Bad Birdie is looking for a driven and highly motivated Senior Accountant with experience in the CPG or apparel industry.   • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and revenue accounting functions
  • Maintain and reconcile perpetual inventory records and ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly/annual close processes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and other key reports
  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Manage fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and property tax returns
  • Partner with operations, merchandising and planning teams on inventory planning and forecasting
  • Assist with year-end inventory observations conducted by 3PL
  • Develop accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Continuously evaluate processes and implement improvements to drive efficiency
  • Support the accounting manager/controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Assist with audits, tax compliance, and other ad hoc reporting needs
  • Provide training, guidance and feedback to develop junior staff's technical skills
  • Assign tasks and workload to junior team members based on competencies
The Technical Stuff:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory accounting, preferably in apparel/retail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, accounting software (eg. Quickbooks, NetSuite), ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Knowledge of US GAAP inventory accounting requirements
  • CPA or CPA path preferred
