- Perform technical tasks assigned by the Civil and Structural Lead, related with design, verification and checking activities, in order to operate in compliance with assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
- Ensure the interfaces with the other Project Specialists and Designers to coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company.
- Provide technical support for the development of technological skills, for commercial aspects and for the feasibility phases.
- Ensure the assigned goals achievement and the fulfillment of the project quality and contractual requirements of the project.
- Define list of activities and deliverables, set up with the discipline leader the time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare design specification for civil works (e.g. concrete works, plant roads, underground networks, piling works).
- Prepare detailed BOQ for civil works and buildings and MTO for steel structure.
- Prepare documentation for technical annexes for engineering activities subcontracting.
- Prepare documentation for technical annexes for engineering activities subcontracting.
- Develop drain water, sewage system layout, plumbing system inside buildings.
- Develop studies for foundations and concrete structures.
- Ensure proper quality checks of all Discipline project documents including Vendors documents.
- Track and report to discipline leader the scope of work changes updating manhour and cost estimates.
- Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction.
- Support discipline leader/TM (Technical Manager) in technical interface with Client.
- Prepare technical documentation for civil material requisition and assist the procurement department in the technical evaluations.
- Prepare together with discipline leader Technical Bid Evaluations.
- Review Client's technical documentation and requirements.
- Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies.
- Supervise/Approve engineering design and construction drawings of civil items related to foundations, concrete structures and buildings.
- Monitor trend of civil quantities with respect to bid phase estimation.
- Design of functional layouts, architectural aspects (3D modelling), finishing and furniture.
- Provide support field engineering at site.
- Review Tender technical documents, define list of activities and deliverables, coordinate activities in accordance with the bid schedule.
- Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted to the Client.
- Implement the bidding methodologies, the design criterias and guidelines.
- Assist proposal team with request for quotation for commercial purpose.
- Prepare material quantities and weights (MTOs) estimation.
- Prepare engineering manhours and items, bulk and material costs estimations.
- Basic knowledge of tools related to 2D drawing and 3D modeling (preferred)
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office package
- Basic knowledge of engineering design criteria for foundations, concrete structures and concrete works items like paving, pits, trenches, etc., including knowledge of criticalities related to construction.
- Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.
- Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work.
- Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by external engineering suppliers.
- Capability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for Discipline quantities estimation either on Bid Projects or on Projects in execution, capability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
- Capability to analyze engineering documents identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
- Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring the compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain process (engineering, purchasing, production and fabrications, assembling, packing, transportation, clearing through customs, preservation and installation).
