In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whānau be the best they can be.He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role:We are looking for that special person who is enthusiastic, and passionate about working in mental health. You'll manage crisis situations with ease and have no issue thinking off the mark. Your days will be spent supporting Whaiora, having fun and taking them out on activities. Computer skills are a must, as part of your role will require writing reports and conducting assessments.Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Establish a rapport with clients/tangata whaiora and their whanau.
  • Provide day to day support in alignment with client/ tangata whaiora goals and support plans including risk management plans and Safety Plans.
  • Work with clients/ tangata whaiora to identify significant goals. Provide encouragement and support clients to achieve their goals.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, bringing ideas and updating others on their activities.
  • Ensure all incidents are documented appropriately.
He kōrero mōu | About You:We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll use your non-judgmental attitude and belief to motivate and encourage whānau realise their potential. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships, while maintaining strong professional boundaries.To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Health and Wellbeing or be working towards one.
  • Good level of computer skills to record notes and hand-over information.
  • Previous experience within the mental health and/or addiction sector
  • Communication skills and a strong cultural competency are vital for this role.
  • A Full New Zealand Driving License.
  • Experience of one-to-one support within the community is preferred but not essential.
  • It's essential that you have a Full New Zealand driving licence.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice.
