Senior Engineer Systems - Lab Server Support

- Your responsibilities will include server hardware and Linux/Windows technical support.
- You will create and complete procedures;
- Create and perform scripts;
- Provide troubleshooting support for architecture, infrastructure and network engineering teams on the servers you are responsible for.
- You will use troubleshooting procedures and technical information to identify severity of incidents and carry out accordingly the resolution process;
- Research issues that do not have a recognized solution and prepare a resolution process;
- Maintain local documentation, which gets updated on all features of servers.
- The engineer should have 4+ years' experience with Linux/Windows systems administration in an industry that requires 24x7 support.
- The engineer must have 3+ years' experience with virtual hosting systems such as KVM and Nutanix; be able to write scripts in Bash, Python and Perl and knowledge of SNMP, SMTP.
- The engineer must understand how switches, routers, and firewalls work. This person must know about access and trunk ports; what a vlan is, how to configure a vlan on Linux, OVS or Nutanix and be able to breakdown IP networks into subnets. The engineer will not be responsible for the network equipment but must be able to communicate effectively with a network engineer support personal.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (state other technologies as required)

- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge with automated Linux configuration systems such as Kickstart, Ansible or Puppet.
- Knowledge of how to configure MySQL and PostgreSQL and be able to setup replication, are a plus.

- Must be able to travel. Travel will only be about 10% of your time.
