In our CFCs - together with the proprietary software applications - we operate a world-class online grocery business that automates the single pick of products, ready for your online delivery.About the roleWe have a rare opportunity for an experienced Engineer to be part of Ocado history, joining us at our operational Customer Fulfilment Centre in Luton, Bedfordshire. You will be working on state-of-the-art technology, being the principal point of contact for any critical technical issues, as well as keeping the operation running smoothly through proactive improvement works and maintenance activity. You will be working on a range of incredible machinery, from the impressive conveyor networks to lifts and cranes.On a day-to-day basis you will be reacting to mechanical and electrical MHE breakdowns, analysing faults and identifying solutions, proactively improving machine reliability, supporting on project work to optimise efficiency, sharing your knowledge and experience with the wider team, and taking personal responsibility for your own health and safety whilst at work.You will work a shift pattern to support our 24/7 operation, consisting of 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.About youYou are a highly competent Engineer with a passion for career development. Ideally, you have come from an FMCG background, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You are computer literate, keen to learn new skills, and you take a creative approach to problem-solving.
