- Lead the daily coordination of production activities and performance, providing guidance, leadership and motivation to ensure production goals are achieved with maximum efficiency
- Ensure smooth handover of shift by communicating with opposing supervisor then to the Production Manager in relation to shift production and any quality and safety issues or concerns
- Liaising with Team Leaders to ensure daily targets are met and address any concerns with Production Manager & Planner
- Ensure OEM orders are fulfilled to our SLA and works orders are closed fast and efficiently in production.
- Develop and adjust manpower accordingly in line with any changes to production requirements, ensuring that current and future productivity and quality goals are met
- Ensure team members are effectively trained and provide the tools and resources need for them to carry out their role
- Work closely with the Production Manager and Planner to help improve workflow and efficiencies
- Maintain open lines of communication between employees and management
- Ensure employees have the required level of safety training, that all equipment and installations are maintained to a high and safe standard
- Ensure all colleagues are always using the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Take responsibility for all incidents, accidents and near misses being reported immediately to Health & Safety in accordance with Company guidelines
- Thorough investigations to be completed to determine the root cause of any incident, accident or near miss and develop action plan in conjunction with Health & Safety to eliminate/mitigate the cause
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures (both in house and regulatory)
- Complete all relevant documentation throughout the shift
- Control production, carrying out stringent checks on all products along with the quality to minimise mistakes and keep down time to a minimum
- Maintain a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the aims and ethos the Flavour Warehouse Group, setting a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of Flavour Warehouse and its group of companies
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
- Undertake any other tasks which can be reasonably expected in relation to the role
- Sign off products before running the machine to ensure they match productive paperwork
- Accurately document daily box packaging and machine records
- Ensure employees are adhering to the production plans and products are produced on time, in the correct quantities and to the output targets requested by the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager
- Line Manage and supervise all machine room and box packing employees on your shift, including performance management, attendance, training and time keeping matters
