We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Workerto join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A Prison located in London.HMP Belmarsh is a male, maximum security prison that has a capacity for 910 inmates. Healthcare at HMP Belmarsh includes, Dentists, Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance abuse and Pharmacy.HoursMonday-Friday
09:00-17:00Hours to change eventually so candidate required to be flexible and able to do 12 hour shifts.SalaryUp to £53,000 depending on experience.How will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.What you'll be doingAs a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
  • Assess patient’s health needs and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge.
  • Providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
