
Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL

- This position will include possibly rotating to support Second Shift Hours (3 pm-11 pm) during testing operations
- Support project group with design of new and existing avionic testing hardware
- Coordinate with MCC Scheduling, GRAIL Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Safety Quality and Assurance (QA/QE), and other groups as required to plan and execute testing activities
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (URR/TRR)
- Ensure QA/QE support is scheduled to support testing
- Perform pre-task briefs
- Execute GRAIL validation testing, acting as Test Operations Engineer
- Retain test result documentation and ensure archiving of as run test procedures
- Contribute to Post Test Reports (PTR) W
- Works with test community to develop the top-level test procedures in DOORS Next Generation which will be transformed to GRAIL test checkout procedures
- Perform ground testing and flight operations testing for hardware with end item documentation of the GRAIL
- Use Linux based workstations and scripts for switch layout of the lab
- Support integration testing for verification and validation activities of hardware
- Should understand and support project testing schedule and produce required documentation
- Should review and track engineering deliverables for project status reporting
- Should understand CAD drawings and large-scale system configurations
- Work with procurement documentation and work with vendors for hardware specification and delivery
- Perform other duties as required
- BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or IT from an accredited school
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical and power systems
- Understanding of lab operations and documentation
- This position will include possibly rotating to support Second Shift Hours (3 pm-11 pm) during testing operations
- Knowledge of Avionic Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork
- Past experience with NASA avionics
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

- Work may involve sitting for extended periods
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary
- Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task
- Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
- Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
- This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
