The position will develop and deliver effective strategic communications programs aimed at fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the values and strategic goals of Tronox.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to:Collaborate with regional senior leadership to develop comprehensive communication strategies aligned with company objectives and values, ensuring brand consistency across all internal and external communications.Manage public relations efforts, including crisis communication planning and execution, stakeholder engagement, community relations and government relations to maintain a positive reputation and identify opportunities for the company.Engage government, business, civil society, and other stakeholders to secure a stable and predictable operating environment (regulatory and fiscal).Plan and execute corporate events, including conferences, trade shows, and community outreach programs, to promote the company's brand and engage stakeholders.Oversee internal communication channels and messaging to ensure employees are informed about company news, initiatives, and developments. Partner with other business functions to develop strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster a strong company culture.Lead the development of engaging content for various channels, including town halls, safety campaigns, press releases, website content, social media posts, internal newsletters, and presentations.Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts to proactively manage media inquiries and secure media coverage that positively impacts the company's image.Qualifications & ExperienceHonours degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing/ Public Relations or related NQF 8 (Mandatory)Minimum 7 years' experience in related position with at least 2 years' experience in a senior roleFluency in English (Mandatory)Fluency in Afrikaans and Zulu (Added Advantage)A passion for delivering effective communications and the competence to contribute to and execute strategic programs as well as tactical activities directed towards multiple stakeholders.Excellent business understanding coupled with strong experience in public affairs, community relations and strategic communication.Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences and a variety of channels.The capability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Strong media relations experience with a track record of securing positive media coverage.Knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental issues, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the mining and chemical industryExperience managing and/or mentoring staff, including direct reports as well as those beyond your immediate team.NOTE:Closing Date: 21 May 2024Pre-screening evaluation will form part of the selection process.Successful applicants will be required to undergo a medical assessment.Psychometric evaluations may form part of the selection process.Please note that appointments will be made in accordance with the Tronox Employment Equity Policy.
