  • Studying part-time for 5 years at Staffordshire University
  • Completing an Embedded Electronic Systems Design Development Engineer Apprenticeship - Level 6. Once completed you will achieve a BEng (Hons) Electrical Electronic Engineering.

On-the-job Overview:
  • During the 5 years, you will be undertaking 80% on the job training and 20% off the job training.
  • You will be working with a highly skilled team and learning aspects of Engineering with placements in Design (CAD & 2D Drawing), DVP (Design Verification Planning), Manufacturing Processes, Circuit Diagrams and Customer Interface.
  • You will have the opportunity to progress through the company and work at prestigious OEM’s and visit Leoni Plants in different overseas locations e.g. Egypt, Romania and Serbia etc.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • A minimum of 4 GCSE grades C (Grade 4) or above including Maths and English
  • An Engineering BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma required or 3 A Levels (including 2 in STEM based subjects)
  • Have a desire to undertake a Level 6 Design and Development Engineer Degree Apprenticeship on a day release basis at Staffordshire University
  • To be successful, you will need to demonstrate your willingness to learn, have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be competent with Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • As this role will involve some travel to LEONI sites a full UK driving licence will be desirable
