Managing water is increasingly important for industries around the world. Water resource quality, water and energy savings, water reuse, energy recovery from effluents and sludge, and micropollutant treatment: all of these issues come into play. NijhuiS operates in different sectors, with an emphasis on food, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, infrastructures - including commercial buildings - and renewable energy. We apply the latest technologies in order to optimize the water cycle and water footprint of our customers. To accomplish this, we are looking into sustainable treatment technologies, often including electrochemical treatments, as well as exploring and implementing measures to improve the energy efficiency of water and wastewater treatment plants.Your goalThe goal of this internship is to investigate the possibilities to optimize energy efficiency of wastewater treatment plants. You will conduct a series of laboratory experiments as part of the technical study. The evaluation of energy consumption will be part of the economic evaluation.Internship available from September 2024 onwards.Who are you?
  • BSc or MSc Chemical, (Bio)Process or Environmental Engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Flexibility and indepence.
  • Professional command of the English language in words and writing. Command of the Dutch language is desirable, but not required.
  • Minimum 4 months internship.

As an intern from the Technology & Innovation department, you will take on challenging and important projects along with Process Design Engineers and R&D engineers. You will run a project with your supervisor and a larger team located in Doetinchem and/or other locations (if applicable).Join our #missionwater
