We are recruiting a new Preconstruction Technical Manager to join a national affordable housing developer. This is a fantastic opportunity with a strong pipeline of projects to work on as well as strategic projects to support.As the Preconstruction Technical Manager you will have a portfolio of development projects to work across as well as involvement in wider initiatives such as: net zero agenda, ER development, design guides, etc. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Site acquisition due diligence as well as assessment of regeneration opportunities
  • Appointment and management of the design consultants
  • Delivering scheme design through to planning and management of planning submissions
  • Oversight of detailed design stages
  • Procurement support for appointment of main contractors
  • Supporting the organisations sustainability agenda when assessing new schemes and designs
Fantastic role on RIBA stages 0-4 on new build and regeneration projects|Additional work opportunities such as net zero agenda, ER development, etc.As a strong applicant for this Preconstruction Technical Manager position you will:
  • Demonstrate a design/technical background (e.g. architecture, engineering, etc.)
  • Ideally possess some client-side experience in a developer or housing association
  • Have a strong technical knowledge and proven ability to manage buildable designs for new build and/or regeneration schemes
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a track record of leading multi-disciplinary design teams
  • An interest in or some experience in driving sustainability focused projects is advantageous
You must have the right to work in the UK. This is a remote working position but some site visits will be required so being commutable to London & the South of England will be highly beneficial.This opportunity is with a Developer of Affordable Housing within the UK. The business has a clear vision in place to deliver high quality, sustainable focused developments across the country, targeting in excess of 500 units per year. This is delivered through a range of new business, partnership, and regeneration opportunities leading to a highly diverse workload.In this role you'll benefit from working across varying housing typologies and build methodologies through stages 0-4 and have a chance to work on other initiatives (e.g. design guide development, net zero agenda, etc.) providing a platform to work towards the next step in your career. The role is a largely remote based role but travel to sites and meetings will be required (circa once per week) throughout the South of England.
  • A salary between £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
