Main Purpose of the RoleWorking closely with senior management on site and with the central Finance functions provide the appropriate level of financial reporting and review to enable the Dorman Manufacturing business to drive current and future performance of the business.Accountable for completing monthly management reports and accounts and supporting with budgeting / forecasting process. Responsible for collating and approving all costing information for bid support.Largely autonomous role with limited day to day supervision / direction. Operates within delegated authority levels and to set financial procedures governance structures. Work is a mixture of proactive (new business / processes / capital investments) and reactive (monthly reporting schedules).Management Of People & AdvisorySupervision / direction of assistant accountant within Finance Department. Provides financial advice / business partner support to Manufacturing site leadership team.Spread Of Skills & Analysis RequiredRole will require a broad knowledge of financial / accountancy principles applied to a manufacturing environment. Analytical skills will be paramount and ability to influence key stakeholders within the business operating as the financial business partner.Jobholder is required to produce highly accurate financial reports to monthly internally set deadlines. Customer bid responses are required to be highly accurate and submitted to externally set deadlinesQualifications & EducationDegree qualified in a finance or business disciplineFully qualified in a professional accountancy qualification. (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Experience & Proven Ability RequiredEssential:
  • Previous experience operating in a finance role in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
  • Familiarity working with MRP systems, ideally SAP
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Leadership and strategic thinking
Duties & Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial reports for the Dorman business unit across customer sales, margin, operating efficiency (labour, machine etc), inventory
  • Responsible for the Corporate Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting process in relation to costs and overheads to support the targeted sales
  • Maintain financial reporting tools and techniques to support business use requirements.
  • Ensure financial reports requests are completed in a timely manner to agreed deadlines
  • Hold meetings with Site leaders to drive improvements from the reporting produced
  • Ensure customer pricing requests are completed in a timely manner to agreed SLA deadlines
  • Prepare customer bid responses and support the business with commercial advice and awareness
  • Ensure key business projects are on time and cost and delivering the benefits expected once introduced
  • Act as the lead Financial person on site and drive commercial and financial awareness across the business
  • Line management of 1 direct report; to provide support and personal development
