Position: Manufacturing Quality Control ManagerLocation: Near SwindonSalary: £33,000 to £35,000 per annumAcorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Manager position in the furniture industry. This role requires a hands-on approach and offers a salary range of £33,000 to £35,000 per annum. Operating on a full-time basis from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, this role may offer occasional remote work opportunities after an initial three-month training period. The position is based near Swindon.We are seeking individuals with expertise in handling large goods shipments, particularly in overseeing the quality aspects of assembling self-build flat packs for clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting meticulous inspections to ensure the quality of various assembly processes.Purpose of the Role:
  • Manage quality issues, including those not immediately visible, potentially requiring remote assessment.
  • Organize and address multiple quality issues simultaneously.
  • Interpret technical design packages and manufacturing details for accurate quality control inspections.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for comprehensive training and support.
  • Uphold internal and client standards, including legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Improve quality control standards and supplier relations without increasing costs.
  • Oversee quality control checks and maintain detailed records.
  • Liaise between third-party QC agencies, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor and enhance the quality control system's performance.
  • Conduct timely quality control inspections without disrupting production.
  • Support Design Managers in ensuring product quality.
  • Facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams.
Key Activities:
  • Develop and refine quality control procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes align with technical specifications and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and procurement teams to establish quality standards.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Establish quality procedures across product ranges and internal departments.
  • Document quality control procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Utilise tools for unbiased product and manufacturing quality assessment.
  • Advocate for cost-effective measures and risk assessment.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality control reports and tracking documents.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • 5 GCSE grades A/B or O Levels, including English and Maths.
  • Extensive experience in retail equipment/interiors or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • Strong background in quality control, inspections, and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret technical design packages for accurate inspections.
  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing and finishing processes.
