Job Description:We are seeking an organized and dependable Cover Manager to join our vibrant team at a well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone with a robust understanding of the educational landscape, excellent administrative skills, and a passion for maintaining educational continuity.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the daily cover arrangements by coordinating and scheduling substitute teachers to ensure classes are covered during teacher absences.
  • Liaise with department heads and teaching staff to assess cover needs and promptly address any scheduling conflicts or special requirements.
  • Maintain clear and efficient communication channels between school management, staff, and substitute teachers.
  • Keep accurate records of teacher absences and substitute placements using the school's information systems.
  • Prepare and distribute resources and instructional materials as required by substitute teachers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of substitute teachers and provide feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all cover teachers understand and adhere to school policies and student behavior management strategies.
  • Assist in the induction and training of new staff and substitute teachers.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Contribute to the overall administration and smooth running of the school.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in the UK education sector.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using school management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A commitment to professional ethics and a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
