Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM), a subsidiary of Desjardins Group, is one of Canada's major institutional asset management firms. DGAM has diversified expertise in many asset classes and a wide range of investment vehicles. It manages more than $90 billion in institutional assets for businesses such as insurance companies, pension funds, foundations, cities, non-profit organizations and more across Canada. As a senior specialized accounting and financial operations advisor for DGAM clients, but working for the subsidiary Desjardins Investment Product Operations Management, you contribute to the operational development and support of the Services and Operations, Asset Management and Reconciliation Department. In your role, you use your knowledge and experience in investment accounting, market finance and business taxation to ensure the engineering and stability of the business processes related to the subsidiary's and the internal DGAM partner's mission. First and foremost, you help build and maintain modern processes that support the financial reporting activities of Desjardins Group's insurance subsidiaries. You demonstrate leadership and initiative to provide the level of service established with clients and ensure appropriate representation with decision-making bodies. You also play an active leadership role in monitoring and integrating accounting and tax standards for traditional and alternative investments (infrastructure, private equity, bank loans, etc.). You influence practitioners on development projects and complex strategic initiatives. The nature of the files requires extensive operational skills and advanced knowledge of investment accounting and corporate finance to effectively operationalize investments. Since this knowledge is required to provide appropriate support to the DGAM partner's institutional clients, customer service experience and skills are an asset. Experience working with different project methods is a major asset. Coordination between operations and projects is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields in finance, accounting and taxation. Interpersonal and political savvy are therefore essential. You also serve as a specialist advisor in operational disclosure in your field and as a resource person and coach for decision-making bodies, using your expertise in accounting best practices and standards for various types of institutional investments.
