- Work individually or with a team and be involved in various aspects of stress, lifting and integrity analysis on a system and sub-system level.
- Work with technical specialists in the design and manufacturing fields to support component manufacture and engine life management.
- Support the mentoring and development of junior mechanical integrity department members.
- Where possible, look for opportunities to build on prior knowledge when generating solutions.
- Advise product management in understanding technical risk levels associated with in-service issues.
- In response to field failures, take part in root cause analysis for components in which you've developed a specialization.
- Lead or collaborate on detailed technical audits of models, stress analyses and lifting reports.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. 5+ years prior experience in industry, ideally in some or all of the following analytical skills: fatigue, damage tolerance, integrity assessments.
- Proficiency with FE analysis software, preferably using the codes Abaqus and/or SC03.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to write accurate, detailed and concise technical reports.
- Motivated by being part of a multi-disciplinary analytical team.
- Interest in gas turbine technology and how it can be developed to remain a relevant technology through the energy transition.
