Using a play-based approach to learning, we provide a secure base for children to explore and learn through play. Unlike a typical Early Learning Centre, we are open for 50 weeks in a year, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.About the role
The role of the Child Care Educator, in the Early Learning Centre (ELC) is to assist the Director/Teacher and the team in providing high quality care and education for children in a community preschool setting for 3–5-year-olds.This is a fixed term full-time position covering a maternity leave for up to 12 monthsNew graduates or those 50% or more working towards their ECT degree are encouraged to apply and will be supported with professional development opportunities.Duties
  • Working with an ECT in the planning, implementing, documenting, evaluating, and delivering of a preschool program for 3 – 5-year-old children.
  • Being responsible for the After School Care program for the preschoolers, with further staffing support.
  • Developing a positive and supportive relationship with children.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, engaging, and compliant environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with families.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Diploma Qualifications in Early Childhood Education (or 50% working towards), Studying towards your Early Childhood Bachelors degree (50% completed)
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Have completed CHCPRT025 or previous - Identify & Respond to Children and Young People at Risk.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
  • Knowledge of the Education and Care National regulations and National Quality Framework.
