- Temps-plein
- This function reports directly to the R&D group leader - Process Chemistry
- To develop safe, cost-effective processes for compounds, scaling them up from lab through pilot plant and onto full-scale production and providing the necessary technical support to ensure the success of those activities in collaboration with R&D team (Designs and initiates own experiments, performs basic polymerization processes, install and approve formulas/raw materials).
- Review products or materials for quality by evaluating raw materials, product maintenance, evaluating equipment for purchasing, meeting reformulating requirements, and responding to product problems (corrective actions).
- Performs scale-ups. Ensure that the process instruction sheets are correct and that all administration surrounding the scale-up process is maintained.
- Key driver in approving new alternative of raw materials.
- Accountable for the solution of complex technical scale-up problems (product/process) and demonstrating significant knowledge and use of chemicals, raw materials and instruments.
- Accountable for providing timely and accurate solutions to multiple company problems of moderate to difficult complexity.
- Makes technical decisions and recommend/alter project path and assist in or recommend budget decisions.
- Convince group leader/peers to support an idea or plan (using technical knowledge).
- 3 years of polymer synthesis specific industry experience
- Experience in polymer production processes.
- Knowledge of how to investigate a complaint and understand the analyses needed to do this.
- Good knowledge of analytical chemistry
- English speaking and writing.
- Expert at bench synthesis (polymerization)
- Statistical analysis skills, required for method development and basic mathematical skills, including knowledge of conversions.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in software programs such as Minitab, Product Vision, and MS Office.
