Job Description :This vacancy is for a male support worker / personal assistant to join our client’s support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients. All of our contracts are for permanent positions with a 6 month probationary period.Mon – Fri, 8am – 8pm = £12.50 per hour, Mon – Fri, 8pm – 8am = £13.50 per hour (waking night), Weekends = £13.50 per hour48hrs offered as 1 x full-time role or 2 x part-time roles (24hrs).This vacancy is for a male personal care assistant to provide complex care support in the Woodford Green, Essex area. The work pattern is either 2 x 12hr shifts per week for part-time, or 4 x 12hr shifts per week for full-time. Shifts patterns will be discussed during the interview.About the Client and Support Needed:
You will be providing complex care support, as needed for our professionally and socially active, creative client to maintain independence, by assisting and facilitating our client’s health, care, personal, social, professional, educational and voluntary goals.Essentially, the role requires you to respect our client’s autonomy and support him in performing tasks he would perform himself if he were non-disabled, as well as provide all care needs including personal care.You will maintain and promote the safety of our client, both at home and whilst undertaking personal, social, professional and voluntary activities.Typical duties will include:· To provide all care needs, including personal care
· To provide medication and equipment to our client as needed
· To assist our client as needed getting to and from appointments
· To maintain areas of our clients home and vehicle to an acceptable level of cleanliness
· To check stock supplies and maintain adequate stock levels
· To maintain and organise our clients clothing, belongings and equipment to his wishes whilst being careful and respectful
· To ensure our client’s holistic wellbeing is supported at all times as neededThis list is not exhaustive.This role requires care skills, empathy, patience and the ability to work under your own initiative whist maintaining confidentiality and without hindering or interfering the client’s wishes and activities.RequirementsTraining Provided Specific to this Client:

You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client. If you are 'already known to the client' and have care experience, this will be valued. Unless specified elsewhere, previous care experience is not essential.Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:
  • This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 - there is genuine occupational requirement to recruit male support workers only
  • You will need to be a driver for this role and hold a full, UK driving licence.
  • You must be based within an hour of post code: IG8 and be punctual, with a degree of flexibility regarding shift patterns and availability.
  • Our client has cats, therefore you should be comfortable around animals, with no cat allergies.
  • It is our client's wish that you be a non-smoker, have previous care experience - preferably supporting people with physical disabilities, Gastrostomy care, Ventilation and Moving and Handling.
  • You should work well as part of a team, be supportive, kind, be able to follow instructions and policies, be organised, honest and have excellent communication skills.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
