Focusing on your success and for what's next, will ensure you thrive too.Role and key responsibilitiesThis is a Commercial Accounting Analyst role to support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager for the Employment, Labor and Pensions practice group.The main purpose of this appointment is to support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and Partnership in analysing and reviewing performance across the group, providing 'real time' support to the Partners and leadership team. To become a trusted advisor and to provide assistance to the business with regards to decision-making and driving improved KPIs and profitability, as well as supporting the practice in delivering on strategic initiatives.A keen eye for detail, accuracy and the ability to work at a fast pace to meet tight deadlines is essential.
  • Analytical support for the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and Business Stakeholders
  • Delivering analysis that supports meeting key strategic requirements
  • The month end processes, reporting, P&L reviews & variance analysis
  • Writing commentary to include in business performance reports
  • Supporting on budgeting, planning and forecasting
  • Work in tandem with the rest of the Commercial team to ensure quality control and best practice is developed including streamlining processes and analysis
  • Work closely in collaboration with HR on performance and promotions
  • The ability to work accurately and at a fast pace is imperative, to ensure confidence in the information provided and to meet tight deadlines
Skills and experienceWe are looking for:
  • The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables, lookups and problem-solving formulas is essential
  • Knowledge of cube-based reporting systems would be beneficial. The firm uses XLCubed.
  • Previous use of Power BI would be advantageous although not necessary
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with building and delivering PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience of presenting information to senior stakeholders in a concise and easy to understand manner
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable working with and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Good team player with the desire to support within the wider finance team.
  • Ability to manage multiple ad-hoc requests for client and sector related information and analysis.
  • Successful candidate will be ambitious, excellence focused, keen to learn and progress within the firm.
