Our client is a fast-growing general contractor headquartered in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. They are focused in public and federal construction projects in the midwest. The Travelling Superintendent will be in charge of organizing, planning, and overseeing the execution of a VA healthcare ground-up and remodel projects throughout the midwest. Their schedule will be 4 days in the field, 3 days off, and will not be micromanaged.
  • Negotiate all trade and vendor pricing per project to reach profitable agreements.

  • Finish with attention to the project budget.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule all work on-site to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Assist in ordering materials and supplies.
  • Schedule deliveries on-site.
  • Provide a daily client update including project progress report and photographs; keep a daily log of what took place on-site for each project.
  • Communicate with the client daily about the project and be prepared to answer their questions.
  • Award all trade contracts and allocate their responsibilities.
  • Communicate quality and performance standards to all trade contractors and vendors.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a general contractor or developer
  • Travelling Super Experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field is plus but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments simultaneously
  • Strong time management, oral and written communication skills
  • OSHA 30 certification
