Would you like to be part of a team that discovers and develops the next generation of businesses developing novel quantum technologies?- Quantum is looking for a new colleague, who will be responsible for scouting and attracting new quantum technology startups to enter Deep Tech Lab - Quantum and help them progress towards raising their Series A financing.Just founded in 2023, Deep Tech Lab - Quantum is a private accelerator working to support quantum startup companies and establish Copenhagen as an international hotspot for quantum entrepreneurship.We are fully owned by the BioInnovation Institute and part of the Novo Nordisk Foundation group, and we share building, methods, and Friday bar with our biotech colleagues at BII and the startups they work with. This also gives us a natural focus on the possible applications of quantum technology within Life science.We incubate our startups in a new, vibrant, collaborative workspace in Copenhagen bringing together entrepreneurial researchers and venture builders that advance new quantum science companies towards the market. Deep Tech Lab - Quantum provides startups with more than funding and offices; we provide the knowledge, experience, and network of the inhouse team, world class researchers, mentors, and international partners to advance their science, complete their team, and raise their Series A. We have ambitious goals and want equally ambitious team members to join us and make a difference.Deep Tech Lab - Quantum is also part of the NATO DIANA program.The JobAs Senior Associate Business Developer you will be Involved in all aspects of scouting, selecting and developing companies in our programs. This includes scouting opportunities in the local and international quantum research communities, attracting and selecting world class quantum startups to become part of our community and being a part of all aspects of running our programs.You act as project anchor for companies and guide them to execute on their plan. You act as wingman to the startup CEO in her fundraising and aren't shy about giving required feedback along the way. In addition to helping start-ups, you develop strategic DTL-Q program offerings for companies in collaboration with colleagues at DTL-Q and BII. Throughout the process, you are comfortable managing stakeholders such as the researchers, startup founders, VC investors, and DTL-Q partners.You will be a part of the small Business Development team and collaborate closely in solving problems, improving our processes, and telling the DTL-Q story to international quantum startups and VC's.You will:
- Work with DTL-Q colleagues and external partners including the research communities to expand reach, identify new promising startups and manage pipeline
- Onboard, anchor, and assist DTL-Q companies during their stay in the accelerator
- Participate in strategic development projects with DTL-Q and BII colleagues and external stakeholders to improve the DTL-Q platform.
- MSc or PhD level in relevant field (Natural Sciences, Engineering, Physics)
- 5+ years of relevant experience. Could include PhD, CXO in a deep tech startup, or experience from management consulting
- Ability to engage with researchers and understand research results and the potential transition of these into commercial opportunities
- Experience in mentoring startup founders
- Understanding the quantum industry and the trends of this new industry
- Strong team player with an ability to support and challenge colleagues and stakeholders as needed
- Comfortable in a continuously changing environment
- Outgoing, curious, and comfortable with networking also internationally
