Commercial Operations Manager

• Oversee the Commercial business, ensuring customer service, productivity, fleet efficiency, cost control, safety, and environmental compliance targets are met.
• Manage RCV/REL route sequencing to optimise fleet utilisation and minimise costs, utilising vehicle tracker systems and daily planning.
• Analyse and improve the performance of the skip business, ensuring targets are met and addressing operational issues promptly.
• Generate weekly and monthly KPI reports covering various metrics like cost per lift, overtime, fuel usage, accidents, and service errors.
• Collaborate with the sales team to address service issues and volume shortfalls affecting targets.
• Develop and maintain a skilled and motivated workforce through effective management and training initiatives, including bonuses tied to KPI achievement.
• Maximise the lifetime and revenue potential of all assets, ensuring timely exchange or removal from customer sites when necessary.
• Recommend capital expenditure and assist in procurement processes for fleet and waste collection assets.
• Ensure adequate resources are available to handle seasonal demand fluctuations.
• Maintain proper documentation for customer training and asset maintenance, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the EHS team to uphold safety and regulatory standards for the fleet and drivers.
• Provide coverage for direct reports during annual leave as needed.
