We support and make accessible innovative research into all dimensions of Asian American life. AARCS seeks to advance Stanford as a leading center of scholarship on Asian American/diaspora issues. Our primary areas of focus include research; education; community & public engagement. We recognize the diverse geographic formations, experiences, and identities that comprise Asian American/diaspora communities.Position Summary: The recently launched Asian American Research Center at Stanford (AARCS) is seeking a full-time Program Associate to provide administrative support working under the supervision of the Director and Executive Committee of the Center. In this role, you will assist in all aspects of the Center’s operations, from administrative duties to supporting the Center’s research. You will help build a vibrant community of faculty and students interested in Asian American/diaspora issues. Learn hands-on at every level of our organization.This is a 100% FTE, one year fixed term, non-exempt position. Thank you for considering employment opportunities with the School of Humanities and Sciences.CORE DUTIES:· Organize events including an inaugural conference in 2025, on-campus talks, community gatherings, working groups, and faculty meetings.· Assist with research projects such as the Asian American Art Initiative and the AARCS seed grant funding.· Update the AARCS website with events, news, new affiliates and other updates.· Manage a master calendar for the AARCS, including scheduling meetings and events and compiling related external events​· Respond to inquiries about the AARCS and communicate with affiliated faculty and students and associated programs and projects.· Process and monitor routine financial transactions​.· Additional tasks to be determined as AARCS establishes itself.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Bachelor's degree and prior administrative experience or combination of education and relevant experience highly preferred.· A strong interest in, and well versed in Asian American/diaspora history, issues, and culture. Prior related coursework and/or research experience preferred.· Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects and routine tasks.· Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.· Strong verbal and written communication skills.· Excellent interpersonal skills.· Ability to prioritize and multi-task and proactively resolve issues.· Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.· Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgement in making decisions.The expected pay range for this position is $33.17 to $43.75 per hour.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
