- Run the FPSO marine department, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations and liaise with the Production and Maintenance Supervisor facilitating cooperation between onshore and offshore maintenance functions.
- Ensure that all marine related operations are executed within the parameters established by regulatory authorities, Equinor policies and procedures, IMO, ISM Code, Marpol, SOLAS, OCIMF, Navy, Flag state, DNV, ISPS and Country Labor requirement and be responsible for audit readiness and follow-up closure of potential findings and be responsible for Navy and Class inspection readiness and follow-up closure findings, reporting to the OIM.
- Maintain the unit´s statutory certification and records as required by Class and Flag by means of survey or by any other mandatory regulations issued by IMO or any other local country/authority regulatory body.
- Be accountable for marine operating system: i.e. cargo operations and cargo plan; cargo calculations, cargo/ slop/ ballast tanks entry, cargo/ slop/ ballast tanks condition monitoring, Crude Oil Washing operations, slop water discharge and Oil Record Book entries, unit stability and hull stresses, loading/stability software and software integrity, machinery, offloading system, lifting appliances and gear, variable deck load and storage and use of hazardous substances; considering engineering aspects and ensure cost efficient operations inclusive cost follow-up and control.
- Ensures quality in the permit-to-work process, from creation through closure and uses the maintenance management system (SAP) to follow up on corrective Maintenance portfolio risk assessment meeting, ensure quality in notifications, and decide on priority based on risk assessment.
- Participate on commissioning phase of new projects, inside or outside Brazil, with focus on safe and efficient operations, including 3D review, FAT’s, design and documents reviews (project abroad).
- Understanding of gas blanketing concept, where crude oil tanks are filled with HC instead of inert gas and experience with challenging material handling operations where crane coverage is limited to main lay down and small specific areas.
- Knowledge of deep well cargo pumps operations for transferring and offloading crude oil (very light crude and condensate). Knowledge of chain jack mooring system operations and position monitoring systems and understanding and experience with offloading telemetry (and “green line”) system for operations with DPST (dynamic position shuttle tankers).

- Bachelor degree in Nautical Sciences with CSEM (or equivalent) certificate is required.
- Desirable minimum of 4 years of experience as FPSO Marine supervisor/Cargo Superintendent, alternatively 5 years of experience in Marine Lead/ Cargo Supervisor in FPSOs or 5 years as Offtake Tanker Master.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Portuguese.
- Bahamas Certification is desirable and STCW II/1 is required (STCW II/2 is preferred).
- Efficient in use of maintenance management system, preferably SAP and using office computer systems.
- Good understanding, technical knowledge and experience of ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, Marine Operations, ISGOTT.
- Be able to supervise a Marine department, aiming for safety and quality in deliveries, to create a collaborative and efficient environment onboard FPSO.
- Be proactive by nature, takes initiative and can work independently as needed. Gives and receives constructive feedback and is motivated by continuous improvement.
