This role involves the development and maintenance of key business systems and applications. The Business Systems Developer will contribute to the team by providing technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Continuously improve the existing in house applications, and ensure their continuous, seamless integration with the existing and emerging 3rd party and customer APIs.
  • Accelerate and dynamize the move to AWS for business applications that are currently hosted on premise and are not in the industrial perimeter
  • Work with the Commercial, Operational and Business teams, to ensure that the needs are reflected through its applications portfolio.
  • Work on JIRA, ensuring that all development, operations and security requirements for the business applications are captured in sufficient detail; ensure that releases are accurately reflected and that velocity reports are easily issued.
  • Work with business to agree and define service levels and processes for each core application.
  • Work with third parties in an effective and timely manner, and work to strengthen relationships (both internal and external)
  • Engage with customers in a manner acceptable to the Commercial team, and with their involvement.

  • Relevant educational qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Business Systems Developer or a similar role
  • Excellent hands on experience with NodeJS
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and platforms - AWS is a must
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation languages preferably Python but also Ruby, Perl, Java, PowerShell, SQL Server, NoSQL, MySQL
  • Proficiency in version control, configuration management, CI/CD, and IaaC tools
  • Proficiency in container frameworks like Docker and Kubernetes
  • JIRA or related development tracking tools.
