- Leading Mechanical team on healthcare or Education projects
- Mentoring and developing junior staff
- Assessing staff requirements at each work stage and be able to manage single disciplinary and multi-disciplinary projects
- Obtain the necessary information both internally and externally from Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Design Consultants to provide a fully coordinated design
- Ensure the Design Team is kept fully informed of all technical and other information necessary for the duration of the project
- Undertake the control of all production aspects of the projects in the team
- Be familiar with the BIM design process and be capable of leading projects designed in Revit
- Ensure compliance with all Statutory and Regulatory obligations, make submissions to the Statutory Authorities and obtain approvals as necessary
- Produce all design information and ensure that all calculations are prepared and signed off in accordance with the requirements of the QA procedures, relevant Standards and Codes of Practice
- Represent AECOM at Client, Design Team and Progress meetings throughout the design and construction phases of projects
- Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors, respond to tender queries, comment and review tender returns
- Attend tender / client interviews
- Attend site inspection meetings
- Ensure the project work complies with the Project Management Plan and Programme
- Understand and implement AECOM’s Safety Health and Environment Policy
- Successful track record of mechanical building services design in healthcare and/or education sector
- A highly motivated individual with a passion for succeeding and developing
- Have previous experience working as either a Senior / Principal Engineer
- Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong negotiation skills.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, such as CIBSE, ASHRAE, EI.
- Good understanding of software packages used to the design mechanical building services systems.
- Experience in delivering projects using BIM software packages (Revit, IES)
- Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
- Should either be chartered or working towards accreditation
- Post graduate experience
- The successful candidate will preferably have had experience in the design and delivery of healthcare facilities and be familiar with HTM/HBN
