The school provides specialised teaching for pupils aged 4 to 19 with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. The team are dedicated to helping the pupils develop skills, understanding, and confidence through outstanding, evidence-based, individually tailored teaching, empowering them to thrive and lead happy, confident lives. To ensure personalised attention, class sizes are kept small and provide 1-to-1 support for each child. To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Ideal candidates will be flexible, resilient, and have a positive approach to supporting learners with SEN
  • Relevant experience/knowledge of UK SEN settings (desirable)
  • Own transport due to the school's location
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Conducting individualised teaching sessions with assigned pupils on a daily basis
  • Collecting and recording data on delivered programs as instructed by the Class Leader or Lead Tutor
  • Participating in and helping instruct pupils during extra-curricular activities
  • Supervising indoor/outdoor playtime and lunch on a rota basis
  • Contributing to the production, organisation, and maintenance of appropriate curricular and teaching materials
  • Providing personal care when required (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, and feeding) for pupils within the school
  • Working as part of a classroom team to provide behaviour based instruction to children with autism and related communication disorders
