Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant

- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations
- Forecast financial results and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement
- Analyse financial trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and key financial metrics
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management
- Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and financial obligations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Implement best practices in financial management and reporting
- Provide training and support to finance staff on financial systems and procedures
- Lead and mentor the finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Sage 200
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills
- Knowledge and Experience of PowerBI and PowerQuery desirable
- Experience and expertise in Costing
- Ability to make independent decisions and methodically solve routine problems
- Knowledge of CIS and reverse charge VAT legislation
- Experience of facilities/real estate and/or the building management industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
