Head Patent AttorneyHead Patent Attorney will provide strategic advice, guidance and support for all patent aspects related to a molecule on a global scale. He/she will be responsible for the product for the duration of the project, including development, in-licensing, transactions, litigation and launch. He/she also will manage a team of 2 Lead Patent Counsels.Main Responsibilities:*Support all departments, business units and affiliates with respect to patent and patent litigation matters*Provide timely, robust and strategic advice to clients*Advise and counsel Development, Launch Management, Licensing, Commercial, Portfolio and other functions with respect to all patent issues*Clearly and effectively communicate advice so that clients understand the risk and the potential impact*Ability to explain complex patent and legal issues in a clear, concise and understandable manner*Deep scientific knowledge and ability to digest and retain complex information quickly*Retain, instruct and manage external counsel with respect to oppositions, litigations and any other patent advice that is needed*Ability to strategize and implement a global launch and litigation strategy in multiple jurisdictions*Quickly learn and adapt to complex new problems, situations and knowledge*Interact and contribute to the Patent and IP Team and daily and share knowledge and learnings*Work with and develop junior team members and trainees. Share knowledge and participate in the development and education of all team member*Act as EQE sponsor team members working towards qualifications*Manage, support and develop a team of 2 Lead Patent counselsResponsibilities

Degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, engineering and/or law

Good knowledge of pharma engineering, preferred experience with R&D
10+ years in patent law practice with a focus on pharma and/or life sciences
In-house patent attorney experience in pharmaceutical company
Experience practicing as patent attorney in private practice advising pharmaceutical and life science clients
Qualification as patent attorney, preferred European patent attorney
Excellent communication and business partnering skills
Fluent English, additional languages a plus
