- Oversees all commercial loan operations activities from end to end including documentation, booking, servicing and portfolio management for all loans to businesses.
- Collaborates with business partners to administer commercial loans in accordance with laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, internal procedures, and processes to meet SOX and auditing requirements.
- Identifies and appropriately manages risks associated with the commercial loan function.
- Develops and enhances processes and workflows in collaboration with other business units to improve customer experience and efficiency and adapt to alternate channels such as online and mobile banking.
- Identifies and drives improvements to loan and related systems and develops documentation, booking and servicing procedures and guidelines consistent with best practices to ensure data quality, operational efficiency, and compliance.
- Ensures department strategy, goals and operating procedures align with the Bank’s vision, making appropriate modifications when necessary.
- Establishes key performance metrics to measure and manage the delivery of departmental objectives.
- Provides technical and operational support for loan and related systems and serves as a subject matter expert on loan booking systems.
- Partners with ASB attorneys to develop, maintain and update commercial loan documentation and procedures, including processes to protect and maintain the bank’s interest in collateral.
- Leads the coordination, testing and implementation of commercial loan system changes and releases, including communicating changes, working with business partners to identify impacts and opportunities, and providing training to impacted teams.
- Mentors, trains, coaches and develops production teammates to (i) demonstrate understanding of best practices for the commercial loan function and (ii) deliver an excellent customer experience. Establishes careers paths and opportunities for continued development of teammates.
- 5 (five) years of banking experience in consumer or commercial loan servicing, underwriting or documentation. Legal or other commercial loan experience can be considered in lieu of consumer or commercial loan servicing experience.
- 3 (three) years of management/direct leadership of a team - accountable for development and coaching of team members and distribution of work assignments
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize workload for self as well as others.
- Ability to lead a team to execute on key department and bank strategies as well as coaching individuals to achieve optimal performance. Effective at conflict resolution.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with loan operations and servicing software.
- Current and working knowledge of bank credit processing regulatory rules and regulations, commercial loan process, servicing and documentation is required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across the organization.
- Experience and ability to implement or enhance technology and leverage technology into workflows to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and compliance in bank loan operations.
- Possesses excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
