- Communicate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and enable them to achieve high value results through Procurement
- Coordinate the implementation of agreed procurement strategies and monitor supplier performance through consistent communication with internal/external stakeholders
- Liaise with Group Procurement Category Managers/Buyers to ensure the implementation of agreed Procurement Strategies on Group Categories within Greek Region
- Build relationships with suppliers, facilitating the flow of information within the organization in terms of new products and services
- Conduct routine supplier business reviews and evaluate suppliers based on various criteria such as price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, supplier's reputation and history
- Analyze market conditions & purchase data to identify trends and opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and develop alternatives
- Generate reports and prepare presentations for summarizing procurement activity and market trends
- Actively support the procurement process from purchase requisitions review, RfQ/RfP creation/delivery,
- quotations analysis and evaluation and purchase order placement through receipt of products and subsequent payment of invoices
- Actively support the preparation and revision of the company's purchase budget, providing timely and advanced price forecasts and verifying sourcing plans with business stakeholders.
- Responsible for structuring proposals for the procurement of goods and services, focusing on long-term and sustainable supply agreements that capture regional/international market conditions.
- Identify sourcing risks in a timely and proactive manner, seeking alternatives and securing the optimum sourcing plan of materials critical for the cement plants operation.
- BSc/MSc degree preferably in Engineering or Business or Supply Chain or relevant field
- Master's degree in business administration/supply chain management will be considered an asset
- Good knowledge of international commercial shipping and trading terms and import regulations
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of cost drivers and ability to apply within negotiations, development of strategies and embarking upon sourcing improvement opportunities
- Very good understanding of accounting, inventory, budgeting, and purchasing activities
- SAP MM module knowledge will be considered a strong asset
- 2-5 years of professional experience in a purchasing, logistics or supply chain department ideally in manufacturing/industrial environment
- Experienced in vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Results driven and solutions-oriented approach
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- Team player and solid interpersonal skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment & manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills both in Greek & English language
