Milk Education are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Preschool Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school in NE6. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with young children, a nurturing demeanor, and excellent communication skills. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher in implementing our curriculum, engaging children in age-appropriate activities, and fostering a positive classroom environment.Preschool Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Support individualized learning by providing one-on-one attention and guidance to students as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance, promoting positive discipline techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other team members to assess student progress and communicate with parents/guardians about their child's development.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to continuously enhance teaching practices and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles, educational theories, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the lead teacher.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
