Hours: 8am - 5:00pm M-F with no weekends!We are currently working with a Family Owned Automotive Repairing Car Workshop Business in the Aldershot area who is currently looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician and desirably an MOT Tester to join their team of MOT Testers, Vehicle Mechanics, Diagnostic Technicians and Electric Vehicle Specialist in a busy and fast paced Automotive Workshop team.Our client boasts an excellent reputation with customers, employees and local businesses in their area with an ever growing loyal customer base. The ideal applicant will have at least 5 years experience in a workshop environment and capable of diagnostics and mechanical repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles in their well equipped workshop team. - The ability to work unsupervised on complex jobs such as cylinder head gasket/valve replacement, timing chains, engine rebuilds (excluding any specialist machining work) and routine maintenance such as replacement of camshaft timing belts and tensioners on many vehicles including prestige / sports / luxury.
- A thorough working knowledge of modern emissions control systems fitted to Diesel engines such as Selective catalyst Reduction, AdBlue, DPF's, and associated sensors and systems.
- The experience to be able to quickly and accurately diagnose defects for all makes and models and provide accurate feedback to the reception staff to enable an estimate and booking to be provided.
- The ability to confidently meet customers face to face to discuss issues with their vehicles and to provide accurate recording of the customer's concerns and provide reassurance where necessary.
- To advise the reception team of any delays in completing the job in the originally quoted time, particularly where extra time is needed to be authorised for rusted / seized / broken components to be removed or replaced.
- To ensure that job instructions are followed correctly and all consumables and parts used are recorded on the job card provided.
- To ensure that any unused or un-needed parts are returned to stock or supplier before the job is invoiced and collected.
- To ensure that service history logs can be updated. It is vital that the vehicle mileage after a suitable test drive is accurately recorded on the Job Card.
- Must have comprehensive tool kit (except Diagnostic equipment/specialist timing tools/pullers etc.)
