Production SupervisorCompany: Nestlé NigeriaLocation: Agbara Factory, Agbara, Ogun state.
Position Type: Full-Time
Minimum Educational Qualification: B.Sc in Food science/Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural Engineering or related field.Minimum Relevant Work Experience: 4 - 5 years relevant experience in at least one of the following Supply Chain functions - Demand and Supply Planning, Detailed Production Scheduling system, Distribution Requirement Planning, Raw & Packaging Material Requirement Planning, etc.Position SummaryJoining Nestlé means you are joining the largest Food and Beverage company in the world. At our very core, we are a human company driven by our purpose to improve the quality of life and contribute to a healthier future.Nestlé Nigeria is currently looking for a Production Supervisor will supervise and monitor autonomous maintenance on the production line under his responsibility to meet up with Safety, Quality, and output requirements through a strict follow up of the laid down procedure.A day in the life of the Production Planner:
  • Ensure that all issues relating to safety in his area of work and within the factory are given priority, escalate and follow up on their resolution if he needs a support.
  • Maintain Food Safety awareness and its relevance to ensure strict Compliance in the workplace. Act as back up for the line supervisor when requested.
  • Responsible for performing all hygiene/cleaning operations in production floor areas like replacement of old/worn-out cleaning tools/equipment.
  • Responsible to achieve the required quantity of products with a good quality and quantity (net content, wrapping, e.tc.) according to standard specification.
  • 5.Perform the inventory of his shift and report it to his supervisor on a shifty basis.
  • Must ensure that proper shift handover is done according to the Nestle Continuous Excellence standard.
  • Act as an End User in the shift, to ensure that all transactions are properly captured in SAP. Serve as relief for line technician during break.
  • Fill professionally the production report and other related documents as required.
  • To supervise autonomous maintenance, CIL of assets under his control.
  • Adequate usage of material according to BOM (Bill of Material).
What Will Make You Successful?
  • OND, HND, B.Sc in Food science/Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience with strong character as a line technician in the plant of interest.
  • Good attitude to work and ability to interact and communicate with people.
  • Demonstration of technical ability by pro-actively confronting machine malfunctions.
  • Core knowledge of the 10 Principles and expert knowledge in our areas of responsibility.
  • Understanding of factory organization and accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Basic understanding of NCE.
  • Understanding of HR procedures and practices and their application E.G. grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedure, Cleaning Procedure, Operational Module for the Machine under his responsibility.
  • Understanding of skills knowledge and behavioral requirements of positions under their responsibility (e.g. functional, hygiene, safety, technical, etc)
  • Understanding of when action must be taken to minimize risks to people, products and equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing instructions and quality standards
  • Functional understanding of all equipments.
  • Ability to carry out basic troubleshooting on the line.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
