- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure optimal productivity and performance.
- Schedule and assign maintenance tasks, effectively managing resources to maintain efficient operations at all times.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise breakdowns and maximise equipment life.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with other departments to prioritise and address maintenance needs to meet production goals.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, inventory, and equipment history.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Diploma or equivalent; a relevant technical certification or diploma is preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance within a food manufacturing or similar production environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods.
- Familiarity with a variety of production equipment, including conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, and refrigeration systems.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as MS Office.
