Teacher of Design TechnologyLocation: Ilford, LondonSalary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)A vibrant secondary school in Ilford, London, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on offering a rich and diverse curriculum that prepares young people for success in an ever-changing world.Role Overview: As a Design Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach a range of subjects within the Design Technology curriculum, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, and Graphics. You will inspire students to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical abilities through engaging and practical lessons.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that are both challenging and stimulating, catering to the diverse needs of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore and experiment with different design concepts.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance student learning and promote independent thinking.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the learning experience for students.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Relevant degree in Design Technology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at a secondary level is desirable but not essential.
  • Passion for inspiring young people and fostering a love of learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
