
Senior Officer - Operational Risk Control (1.5 LoD)

- Advise and support the business in identifying and assessing non-financial risks captured under the Operational Risk Taxonomy and associated controls
- Oversight and monitor the business in post-lending related activities including annual review submissions, internal ratings, risk classifications and related quality assurance checks
- Work with business to execute 1 LoD operational risk management programme, New Product Approval Process, and 1 LoD assessment, attestation and reporting for specific non-financial risks
- Work with end-to-end stakeholders to analyse emerging trends, incidents and reportable Operational Risk Event (ORE) to identify underlying issues, assess potential risk and impact and establish appropriate solutions
- Maintain a good overview of the Business operational risk profile and control environment. Follow-up on issues identified from various channels and associated remedial actions and status of action implementation
- Advise and support the business in reviewing policies and procedures and documenting controls in the business that meet the Bank’s and regulatory requirements
- Oversee business operational risk and control management activities. Challenge the business when adequate practices are not evident, provide guidance and recommend course of action as appropriate
- Maintain effective end-to-end engagement with Business Risk & Control Manager (BRCM) as well as second line of defence (2 LoD) oversight functions for various non-financial risk types
- Prepare and present the regular business operational risk management reports to Senior Management and key risk governance forums and committees
- Escalate to Management and governance forum on material concerns, persistent issues or breaches of rules, regulation, policies or procedures
- Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) exercise on quarterly basis on relevant business activities within the frontline of business
- Degree educated in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Law or other equivalent
- Solid relevant experience gained in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Consultancy or Audit
- Demonstrated experience in conducting QA
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements of Commercial and/or Corporate Banking business and common market principles
- Solid understanding of financial products, services and process, and compliance and risk management process is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently and manage business expectations accordingly
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent communication skills with solid presentation skills
