  • Lab preparation (mixing) of adhesives recipes according to available process standards
  • Independent performance testing and characterization of the adhesives according to norms or automotive customer specifications
  • Compliance with environmental health and safety best practices
  • Conduct experiments and evaluations independently and as part of a team while exhibiting a strong commitment to safety at all levels
  • Participate in team approach to product development or improvements by sharing knowledge, ideas, and creativity
  • Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, QC, and sales in case of off-spec. production or external claims
  • Independent summary of results in laboratory reports / customer presentations in collaboration with the project leader
  • Documentation of R&D projects in agreement with stage-gate Product Commercialization Process (PCP)
Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Education as laboratory technician or Bachelor’s degree, in Chemistry or a relevant applied science
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to quickly become competent in an unfamiliar area of work
  • Experience in polyurethane-based technologies or adhesive is advantageous
  • Experience in the automotive industry and stage-gate process is advantageous
  • Background in formulating new products and excellent practical laboratory skills is preferred
  • Self-driven, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of cross-functional collaboration for superior results
  • Effective verbal and written communication on all aspects of program activity, including demonstrated ability to make clear, persuasive, concise, and well-organized oral presentations
  • Excellent time management skills and strong bias for action
  • Must be able to work well in teams and to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong commitment to core safety values and best practices for safety including review of risk assessments, job safety analyses, standard operating procedures and MSDS
  • Fluent in English (German nice to have). Any additional language would be a plus
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office as key requirement for documentation
