Position: Commercial Gas EngineerLocation: North-West, UK (Various locations)Company Overview: Our client specialises in providing comprehensive solutions in mechanical, electrical, security, fire detection, LED lighting, heating, cooling & ventilation, and building services. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and gas systems, particularly within commercial environments.Job Description: As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out gas compliance maintenance strategies and reactive maintenance tasks within various commercial establishments, including hospitals, clinics, schools, museums, and others. Your role will involve working in a field maintenance (FM) environment, focusing on gas and plumbing installations, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive call-outs. Additionally, you will be part of an on-call rotation, responding to emergencies outside of regular working hours.Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Contracts Manager and Project Manager within the MEB Maintenance Division.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks within commercial establishments.
  • Perform gas and plumbing installation works as required, with a focus on maintenance activities.
  • Conduct testing and inspection of mechanical services, including heating, hot water, and ventilation systems.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image of the department by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and improve working practices and procedures.
  • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations effectively.
  • Work safely and responsibly in accordance with company values and operational policies.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience as a Gas Engineer.
  • Strong planning, organization, and monitoring abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in approach to work.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
