About the vacancy: Working within our People and Organisational Development function, this is a full time, permanent vacancy working within a busy and supportive team in a fast-paced environment.The focus of the role is to ensure efficient delivery of the payroll and pension service through effective workload management, including payroll processing and pension administration.The team consists of 9 colleagues who regularly process payrolls in excess of 5,000 people a month through our HR & Payroll system, MHR iTrent. You will work alongside our existing Payroll and Pensions Officers to provide a seamless, proactive and efficient Payroll and Pensions service.Key responsibilities include maintaining a good working knowledge of the pension schemes; to ensure that employee queries are resolved in a timely and accurate manner; ensure all payroll processing and pensions administration is completed by the required deadlines; to support the Deputy Payroll & Pensions Manager and to ensure the pension service provided is enhanced for our customers.About you: You will have experience of working in a large complex organisation with significant experience in all pension administration and payroll related transactions. A working knowledge of government related pension schemes for example the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) would be desirable.You will be comfortable using MS Office functions including Outlook, Excel, Word and be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge developed through significant experience of working in payroll and pensions.This post is based at our lively campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.We are one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West with 36,000 students and 4,200 staff from right across the globe.
