- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related area with coursework in anatomy and physiology preferred
- Or at least 8 years of experience in the Associate Clinical Engineering role with demonstrated competence
- Requires 3 years related work experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical engineering technology, design, operation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by industry standards
- Applies biomedical, electrical and safety knowledge indicated.
- Safely uses tools and equipment indicated.
- Possesses the ability to solve problems and manage information indicated.
- Ability to test, troubleshoot and repair complex clinical and non-clinical equipment and devices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical staff and workload to complete department responsibilities involving medical equipment and deliver project work within agreed schedule.
- Ability to design new equipment and modify existing equipment.
- Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
- Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warning devices.
- Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
