- Build, maintain, and ideate on frameworks and tools required to ingest, store, process and serve data for global scale, data-intensive systems.
- Craft a strong technical and operational strategy and the roadmap for evolving data platform as a whole.
- Lead by example on technical matters and drive appropriate decisions at technical level.
- Drive data quality across the product vertical and related business areas. Work very closely with a Product Managers, Data Scientists and Backend Engineers in order to ship in time and operationalize successful features.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
- Define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in all areas, including project management and system reliability.
- Create and instill a team culture that focuses on sound scientific processes and encourages deep engagement with our customers.?
- Handle project scope and risks with data, analytics, and creative problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/software engineering.
- 8-12 years of experience as a server side developer, with at least 4 years in Big Data processing ecosystem.
- Extensive knowledge in data modeling with OLAP & DataWarehousing.
- Proficient in some of the following tools and technologies:
- Languages: Python, Java/Scala, SQL
- Hadoop ecosystem: Hadoop, Spark, Hive etc.
- Stream processing: Storm, Flink etc.
- Workflow: Airflow, Flyte, etc.
- Data Engineering ecosystem: DeltaLake, DataHub etc.
- Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Passionate about solving interesting problems for customers – ready to explore new grounds in technology and user experience.
- Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability to evolving priorities, and the ability to lead a team while working autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
