We are looking for full-time, permanent Senior Lecturer within the School of Education (Early Childhood) with a real passion for teaching and learning to teach across our early childhood suite of programmes.This position will be instrumental in the delivery of programmes based on vocational learning - from Trades Academy, Certificate, Diploma and Degree level study, utilising a blend of centre-based and on-campus learning to graduate educators and qualified teachers who can lead multicultural educational settings. You will work closely with the teaching team along with Early Childhood Centres to deliver a programme that ensures our ECE graduates are prepared and ready to step into centres and communities with vast and varied experience gained during study.This position will need someone who is innovative, proactive, flexible and a great communicator who thrives on working collaboratively - ultimately focused on student success.What will I be doing?
  • Developing teaching content, resources & assessment within the programme to facilitate high learner engagement and success in a blended environment
  • Maintaining currency of practice through active research, professional development and/or further study
  • Visiting and assessing student educators and/or teachers in professional practice experiences
  • Engaging and developing connections with our external and internal stakeholders
What are we looking for?
  • A minimum of a Master's degree relevant in Education - e.g. MEd, MEdLd, MEdPrac, MTch
  • Current Full New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • Current Full (Tuturu) Practising Certificate with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in working with children and families in centres
  • Ideally you will have experience teaching and working with adult learners
  • Strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Active researcher with recent outputs relevant to teaching and learning
