Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for ( ) of the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-LearningCollege of Academic AffairsPosition Overview:Jumpstart Fresno is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants.The successful applicant will be willing to work on a team of 4-6 and implement the Jumpstart curriculum in preschool classrooms in Fresno. We are interested in candidates who have/are willing to learn how to help children develop the language and literacy skills they will need for kindergarten success.The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is open until filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified.Fall 2024: August 19, 2024 - December 23, 2024Spring 2025: January 15, 2025 - May 23, 2025Jumpstart Fresno was started at California State University, Fresno in Fall 2001, and is located in the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning. Jumpstart Fresno has grown from 40 members to now over 70 dedicated Corps Members, reflecting the vast diversity of California's Central Valley. Our program draws students from an assortment of majors, including Liberal Studies, Psychology, and Marketing, among many others.Hours: 0-20 hours per week.Job Duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course:
attend course lectures and trainings
prepare lesson plans focusing on developing language and literacy skills in preschool children
perform individual and/or group tutoring with preschool children
work with a team of peers to plan and implement lesson plans
Qualifications:
Minimum GPA 3.0
Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background,
High School Graduate; Admitted to Fresno State
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in a closely related discipline

Salary: Each department has different salary scales. Please check with your department for your Base Salary. The Salary range for Instructional Student Assistants starts at $17.01 per an hour.
Assignments: Assignments are made by Department Chair or Program Coordinator after consultation with the candidate.
Duties Form: Per the
, a Duties Form (see Appendix E of the CBA) will be completed between the Department and Academic Student Employee. This form substantiates the jobs included for the department Instructional Student Assistant position. * Instructional Student Assistant positions are for matriculated students at Fresno State.
Students are limited to 20-hours of part-time work on campus.
