Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge?Do you have resilience, passion and experience working with SEN and/or EBD?Can you build strong relationships with young people?A brilliant special educational needs school is looking for an outgoing and dedicated Learning support assistant to work with young people (aged 7-16 years) with SEN needs and speech and language needs. You will be helping children on a 1:1 basis supporting learners to access a individualised education/curriculum. Your focus will be to enable them to become independent and confident individuals by teaching them essential life skills, ways to communicate effectively and supporting there individualised learning plan with there interests and hobbies Incorporated. This opportunity is needed on a full time, permanent basis ASAP. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Interacting and participating with the students in the development of skills, supporting pupils to reach their potential for independence
  • Supporting learners participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community
  • Providing the support and care identified in student's individual learning plans
  • Participating in relevant training to achieve required qualifications and attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
An ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
  • The desire to help others to enjoy learning and develop independence
  • GCSE's with minimum Grade C/ level 4 or equivalent, including Maths and English language
  • Experience of working with adults or children with learning or communication difficulties
  • Honest, trustworthy & ethical behaviour at all times
