The Defense Enclave Services (DES) contract provides network modernization to Defense Agencies and Field Activities in a partnership with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to deliver a single digital enterprise that establishes a modern infrastructure foundation and unified architecture needed to deliver cohesive combat capabilities to the warfighter.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must have an active Secret security clearance prior to start. (US Citizenship required)
- Manage, plan, coordinate, and schedule activities related to the personnel and organization of the Enterprise Verification and Integration Facility (EVIF) to include internal testing requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct all activities related to the operational, staffing, management, quality assurance, and training aspects of the Engineering labs.
- Configure and maintain Network security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software and patch management systems.
- Implement network security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards
- Provide appropriate reports and representation to support the interdepartmental communication requirements.
- Meet requirements to become and maintain an approved / certified test lab.
- Create and maintain all third-party listing reports (MET, Intertek, UL, etc.) for products.
- Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
- Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
- Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
- Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
- Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.
- Partner with team members such as project managers, migration team, operations and others regarding project status, issues, or concerns.
- Conduct research on new technologies to conclude their application in future projects
- Evaluate success of a test by comparing results to predicted outcomes or using other metrics such as code coverage or defect rates.
- Coordinate activities with vendors and other external parties involved in the testing process.
- Monitor progress throughout the test cycle to ensure that milestones are met.
- Conduct tests on software applications and computer systems to identify issues and find solutions.
- Configure and optimize the network to link various front-end and back-end components.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity
- Training fellow employees in security awareness and procedures.
- Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
- A Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of networking experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Prior history implementing specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN’s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT).
- Must have an IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570 (Security+ Certification).
- Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper IOS or other IP/transport specific management tools (EMS) and general practices. Expertise in IP technologies, i.e. Networking architectures and methodologies and Voice Services.
- Expert Knowledge of IP principles.
- Understand the following protocols at minimum: IPSec, OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Proficiency in at least two or more of the following devices: Cisco VPN 3060, Cisco routers (2600, 3640 and 7200) and Cisco switches (3550, 3560, 3750 and 6500), Juniper routers, Windows XP, NT, and 2000, NSA Certified Type-1 Encryptors Juniper MX5 routers, Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper EX switches, SONUS SBCs, KG175.
