  • 10% - Pre-production: scouting locations, assist with shot list, prep and load gear.
  • 30% - Production: assist with camera, set up lights and audio, help direct talent, operate camera, distribute and collect model release forms.
  • 50% - Post-production: ingest and prep clips, transcribe audio recordings, organize and identify footage for use, edit audio and video, color grading and correction, audio sweetening, export videos for various delivery methods.
  • 10% - Additional visual storytelling duties as assigned.

  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS.
  • Basic knowledge of grammar, AP style rules as demonstrated in the application material.
  • Must be Reliable and Punctual.
  • Enrolled in the required 6 credit hours at KU.
During the semester term of the appointment, the KU student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.   • Knowledge or interest in using professional video equipment including lights, microphones, sliders, jibs, gimbals, etc.
  • Experience and interest in social media videos.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
  • Strong video editing, cinematography and photography skills.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
  • Knowledge of lighting techniques and microphone placement.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.
