Offer DescriptionHydrogen is a key priority of the European strategy for clean energy, and metallic materials represent the basic pillar of expected technical solutions and innovations in its production, storage, distribution and final use. The PhD thesis will be focused on research of high-strength formed complex concentrated alloys (CCAs) and their resistance to hydrogen embrittlement (HE). The PhD student will participate in forming, heat treatment, hydrogenation and characterizing the properties of new CCAs based on CoCrFeNi with additions of Al, Ti, Ta and Nb. He/she will investigate the deformation behavior of precipitation-strengthened CCAs during cold and hot forming, tensile and compressive tests and their resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. Using analytical and numerical modeling and the ANSYS program, he/she will simulate the processes of forming and deformation behavior during mechanical testing. The validity and accuracy of numerical calculations will be verified by experimental data from mechanical tests and simulation deformation experiments. The obtained experimental-numerical results will be used to optimize the chemical composition, microstructure and processing parameters of new CCAs, which are developed for demanding hydrogen applications. The candidate is required to have experimental skills, knowledge of applied mechanics, basic knowledge of materials science, knowledge of mechanical testing of materials, knowledge of numerical calculation methods as well as a good knowledge of English.RequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Mechanical engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalentResearch Field Engineering » Mechanical engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/Qualifications- Previous experience in material engineering, metallurgy, analysis and characterization methods,- Active knowledge of the English language,- Ability to work in a dynamic team and independence are required.Specific RequirementsPlease, send your CV (incl. the list of publications, citations, and conferences is existing), the motivation letter, and 2 reference letters.Send it to Dr. Michaela Štamborská,Languages ENGLISH Level ExcellentAdditional InformationBenefits- a competitive scholarship- working in the young international dynamic team- SAS dormitory lodging at a low monthly wage - involved in the project- travelling, conferences, collaborative basisEligibility criteria- Master degree or equivalent.- Ability to work independently, collaborate with member of team and other teams- English literacySelection processThe applications will be considered individually and based on the sent documents the promising applicants.
